Alternate Savings Accounts

If you want to save additional money separately from your regular savings account, an alternate share is a good option.

Payable on Death (POD)/Totten Trust Accounts

For members who would like to add a beneficiary to an account, NE PA offers The Totten Trust (POD) revocable trust account. Members can continue to use the account as a regular account. NE PA requires the entire account (with the exception of IRAs) to be included (savings, checking, Top Performing Money Market, certificates, alternate savings, etc.).

Primary member can add or delete beneficiates at any time
Beneficiary does not have rights or access to funds until the member and joint owner (if applicable) owning the account is deceased
Beneficiary is not a joint owner and is not permitted to know balances or do transaction on account

Important Notice About Procedures for Opening an Account

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal Law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. When you open an account at NE PA Credit Union, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. The Credit Union may also ask you to provide your driver's license or other identifying documents.
