There is an increasing need for food and housing assistance in Monroe County, PA.

Recently, NE PA Credit Union donated $500 to The Salvation Army East Stroudsburg Corps to support their mission of fighting hunger and homelessness in Monroe County.

We had the opportunity to tour their facility and see how the staff (and a lot of volunteers) take care of distributing food to those in need on a daily basis. Monday through Friday they provide food distribution and offer a soup kitchen serving breakfast and lunch. During the holidays, they also pack and distribute food boxes for those in need.

In addition to taking care of nutritional needs, they also offer housing resources for the homeless. They provide counseling for drug and alcohol abuse as well as mental health counseling.
